The theme of the cabinet exhibition in the Kreuzstall is the animal in art. The Bönsch Collection offers a rich fund for this: in paintings and graphic works, in sculpture and ceramics, artists of the Classical Modern period dealt with animals. Alongside well-known names such as Picasso, Chagall, Marc and Pechstein, exciting positions by female artists are presented. These include Renée Sintenis, Lou Albert-Lasard, Marg Moll and Emy Roeder.
The exhibition is accompanied by a varied children's programme. Every child who visits the exhibition will receive an accompanying booklet in which parrot "Gustav" imaginatively introduces the paintings and objects in the exhibition. Animal traces also lead to a rally through the Historical Tour in the Castle. Here, too, there are exciting animal pictures and their stories to discover.
