Prices
- Reduced prices are valid for: students, apprentices, the disabled, receivers of ALG II [a type of German unemployment benefit], voluntary services participants – respectively with valid documentation.
- Family ticket: two adults with children of up to 17.
- Children of up to 6 do not pay entrance fees.
The admission ticket entitles you to visit the museums on the castle island.

You will need a separate ticket to visit the special exhibition ‘Twilight of the Vikings - Turning Point in the North’, which we are presenting on Schleswig's Museum Island from 16 April to 2 November 2025 (MORE...). Choose between one of the following fares:

Information for your visit
Schleswig's Museum Island is a complex of buildings that has grown over the centuries. We are working on extensively modernising and expanding Gottorf Castle, which is located in the centre.
One of the first steps is the renovation of the only lift from 17 February 2025 until probably 4 April 2025. During this time, the exhibitions in the castle can therefore only be reached by using the stairs.
