Information for your visit
Schloss Gottorf is a complex of buildings which has grown historically over the course of several centuries. Therefore, some of its rooms are unfortunately not accessible for the disabled.
Should you have detailed questions on the topic of possible accessibility prior to a visit, you are welcome to call our service employees or to write us an E-mail. If you are on the museum island and need help, you can always turn to our employees.
We are currently working on refurbishing the castle building, extending and modernising it. You can find further information about this under www.masterplan-gottorf.de. After these wide-ranging plans have been implemented, it will also be possible for disabled persons to visit all our exhibitions without incurring any problems. In addition to several lifts, we will use a modern orientation system and design the exhibitions in accordance with the Guidelines for Accessibility in Museums.
