Anja Jensen

This year’s Art Prize of the Schleswig-Holstein economy, awarded by the Dr. Dietrich Schulz Art Foundation, will be bestowed upon the artist Anja Jensen in 2024. The exhibition in the Gottorf Kreuzstall showcases seven of her works, which were created in Tépito, a notorious district of Mexico City. Nine more photos come from projects in Chile, Shanghai, Turkey, and Germany.

Anja Jensen presents herself here as a socially critical artist - however, she consciously avoids simple readability and does not align herself with any activist movement. Her distinctive photographic style lingers in the memory of the viewers of her works for a long time.
